The commentary might not impress you, but the dazzling light show and awe-inspiring backdrop of the Sphinx and Pyramids was very entertaining. Plus, it was just cool to see the pyramids at night! Three times a night in three different languages, the Sphinx plays the role of storyteller, narrating the history of ancient Egypt. Shows are held in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Arabic. Call ahead to check the time of the performance you want to attend; private viewing times can be arranged.
With a very low price one can join the sound and lights laser show of pyramids and sphinx and get the story(in English) by watching it at an openair area.
The pyramids and the Sphinx are floodlit at night. Light and Sound Show performances are given in the area to the southeast of the Sphinx.
For many years, the Sound and Light Show at Giza opened with, "You have come tonight to the most fabulous and celebrated place in the world. Here on the Plateau of Giza stands forever the mightiest of human achievements. No traveler, emperor, merchant or poet has trodden on these sands and not gasped in awe".
The show lasts about an hour. It costs 100LE ($20), video permission 35 LE ($7).
